Anthropic's official developer credential for engineers who build Claude-powered applications — API integration, prompt and context engineering, tool use, and agent patterns. It is a proctored Pearson VUE exam in the Claude Certification Program launched in 2026, and access is gated to people at organisations in the Claude Partner Network (which is free and open for organisations to join).

Consider alternatives if
You aren't affiliated with a partner-network organisation — the free Anthropic Academy courses cover the same material with a completion certificate — or you want a broad, provider-neutral AI credential, where an AWS or Azure AI certification is more widely recognised today.
Why we say so
As Anthropic's own developer certification it carries strong first-party authority for Claude work, but it is new and its access is gated to the partner network, so its value is highest for people already building on Claude inside a partner organisation rather than as a general-purpose AI credential.
